What the anime adapts
Firefly Wedding began as a manga in January 2023 and finished its main story in February 2026. The anime picks up that completed work: Satoko Kirigaya, an earl's daughter with a failing heart, is abducted and offered a choice, and her impulsive proposal to the assassin Shinpei Gotō turns a contract killing into a consuming romance that carries the pair from a noble household to the red-light island of Tennyo.
Season one is twelve episodes — no split cours, no filler — airing one per week. Because the manga is already finished, viewers coming to the anime can read ahead without hitting a cliff of unadapted chapters, though this guide keeps spoilers out of the episode pages.
How it looks and sounds
The series is directed by Takahiro Kamei with scripts by Yūko Kakihara and character design by Yukiko Aikei. The music is handled by NOGRID. The opening theme, "Period", is performed by iri, and the ending theme, "夢心地 — Yumegokochi", by TOOBOE.
